M1ABD to stop transmitting from today.
I have just had a call from the Estates office at HQ. They are exchanging contracts on Bullbarrow Hill today!
We will be collecting the radios and kit from site this afternoon. Therefore, M1ABD will cease working for good from this afternoon.

Bullbarrow Hill Update.
I have spoken with Estates to try and get a date for when we will have to close M1ABD down.
They say that they are working on the legal stuff and it could be a matter of days or a matter of weeks before it is sorted.
So, M1ABD could vanish off the map with very little warning.
The good news is that I have arranged with RSARS on Blandford Camp to take over the node once I switch M1ABD off.

NEWS ABOUT BULLBARROW HILL.
I have been informed that Dorset Police have sold the lease to Bullbarrow Hill and they only have the site until the end of the financial year.
That means that is looks like M1ABD will have to close down at the end of March.
Not sure what we are going to do to keep the network going. Without M1ABD my APRS map is usually empty.

MORE TROUBLE AT G0ROZ-3
Those of you that are paying attention will have noticed that G0ROZ-3 has been off air over the weekend.
I finally got through the snowfall and got to site this morning. I found that the computer and the monitor had both died. I have brought the computer home to repair it. I do have a spare monitor, or two, hanging around, so I will take a replacement monitor to site when the computer is fixed.
In the meantime, G0ROZ-3 will be off air.
I was not being very truthful about the snowfall. Although it was snowing up on the hilltop, it was not settling and did not pose any problem at all!

The network has survived the winter with no problems (Fingers crossed and touch wood). The power on Bullbarrow Hill and Eggardon Hill seems to have been fairly stable and the UPS has coped. I have made visits to the sites just to make sure all is well.
There was a bit of a hiccup in getting the keys for the sites, but, with the help of the Estates Office, that has been resolved.

M1ABD-3 off air
M1ABD-3 stopped beaconing yesterday. Today I took a trip to Headquarters to see why. I found that the TNC appeared to be confused and had stopped working. A re-boot of the computer and switching the TNC off and then on again solved the problem.
Looks like we are getting Winter electric supplies already so I look forward to more trips to Headquarters.
